This letter is part of my Letters to Myself collection — a series of reflections written from moments and places that have stayed with me. Each letter is a pause, a reminder, and a way of marking what matters. This one came to life while sitting in a quiet cobblestone corner in the charming town of Elora.

Dear Beautiful Soul,

There’s a stillness here — the kind that seems to slow time. I can hear the faint hum of the river just beyond the stone wall, the distant chatter of people passing by, and the occasional gull calling overhead. The air smells faintly of rain, though the sun has just begun to warm the stones beneath me.

I watch as people pause to take photos, to admire the old architecture, to sip their coffee more slowly than they probably would anywhere else. And I realize — this is what happens when a place invites you to be present. You notice. You breathe. You remember that life is made up of moments like this, not just the big events we circle on the calendar.

I think about how easy it is to rush past these small invitations in our everyday lives. The morning light on the kitchen counter. The sound of laughter drifting from another room. The way the air changes just before it rains. They’re quiet, but they matter. They’re the texture of a life fully lived.

So, here’s my reminder — for me, and maybe for you too: slow down enough to feel the cobblestones under your feet, to really taste your coffee, to look at the way light and shadow dance together on the walls. Let these small things anchor you.

Because one day, it won’t be the to-do lists you remember. It will be the sound of the river, the warmth of the stones, and the way you felt when you finally stopped to notice.

With love,
Me
